- Vuyani sells cakes on the streets of Mangaung
- He wears suits and ties, thereby boosting his popularity
- This has helped his business grow and he plans to open his own bakery
A 26-year-old man in Bloemfontein, Free State, is redefining hawking by donning a suit and tie every time he goes out to sell.
Vuyani Mazibuko sells cakes on the streets, but it's hard to tell because of how smart he looks. His outfits have won him many customers, Briefly.co.za learned.
Speaking to Dailysun.co.za, Vuyani said as a result, some customers give him money even when they don't want cakes.
I have always believed that looking good and having a smile on your face will bring good results.
I’m the breadwinner and I support my family of five. My clothes catch the eye and this means people buy me before they buy my cakes.
Business has been booming as a result of his clever marketing tactic, Vuyani said.

Vuyani explained that his mom started the business in 2013 and he took it over in 2015. Since then, he has been saving funds to open his own bakery.
The budding entrepreneur plans to launch the bakery in December and hopes to supply local supermarkets.
His customers praised him for his smart outfits. Sello Mpene, a 33-year-old taxi driver, said:
I have been buying cakes from this young, tidy man since last year. When I’m off, I also come to buy for my son.
