Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho goes into politics

- World football legend Ronaldinho has officially joined politics

Retired football star Ronaldinho de Assis Moreira, known to many as Gaucho, has decided to dabble in politics and made the announcement during a political event held on Tuesday, March 20.

Arguably considered one of football’s finest players, Ronaldinho is now a fully-fledged member of the Brazilian Republican Party (PRB).

The former PSG and Barcelona star graced the event with his brother and manager Roberto de Assis Moreira.

Speaking during the PRB ceremony, Gaucho said he was looking forward to making a difference by bringing modernity, happiness and health to Brazilians.

"I’m glad to be able to participate in a project that aims at improving our country and bringing modernity, happiness and health to all Brazilian people,” Ronaldinho told reporters.

PRB is a party strongly affiliated to the evangelical Universal Church of the Kingdom of God and was founded in 2005 by Marcelo Crivella, who is also a bishop of the church.
