Akani Simbine, a South African track and field athlete, was left shocked when he was denied entry into Cape Town's Green Point stadium on Tuesday.
On Twitter, the athlete alleged he was turned away when he tried to train on the stadium's athletics track.
During a short conversation on Twitter with rising star, Ncincilili Titi, Simbine said he was also met with resistance when he tried to train outside the stadium instead.
Titi, the African junior champ, said he also had issues accessing the world cup stadium’s facilities.
Simbine holds the South African record over 100 metres. He ran it in a time of 9.89 seconds in Hungary two years ago.
