Patricia de Lille: Politician Battles Covid19, Mzansi Sends Well Wishes

- Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Patricia de Lille revealed recently that she has been diagnosed with Covid-19 after picking a few symptoms up

- De Lille has pleaded with the people of South Africa to follow the regulations set out to fight the virus by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and sanitising hands

Politician and Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Patricia de Lille has revealed that she tested positive for Covid-19. De Lille shared the news on her official Twitter account on 6 June, 2021.

The leader of the political party, Good, said she had symptoms and went for a test just before the weekend. De Lille said she immediately self-isolated and informed those she had been in close contact with of her diagnosis.

Briefly News recently shared an article about the alarming rate that Covid-19 cases are increasing by. On Sunday, 5 074 new Covid-19 cases were reported, according to the National Health Department's daily statistics on new infections and deaths.

In South Africa, a total of 1 696 564 Covid-19 instances have been reported, with a total of 1 343 433 vaccinations administered so far.

According to the department, since the last report, a total of 11 876 594 tests have been done with 35 821 new tests being registered. After 45 people died, the total number of Covid-19-related deaths was 56 974. The recovery rate is standing at 93%.
