Lockdown's Nelisiwe makes us feel like its 1976 all over again

Actress Nelisiwe Sibiya sang the struggle song Azania and took us all on a trip down memory lane.

Fellow actress, Gugu Gumede recorded and posted a video of Sibiya belting out the powerful lyrics in his equally powerful voice.

"You brought tears to my eyes. Thinking about the black individual; about our struggles, about our land, about our stolen opportunities," Gugu said about the rendition.

The song, Azania, has been described as the best struggle song in the history of African struggles.

Sibiya is a born performer with a passionate live for the arts. Her powerful voice made her role in the series Lockdown. She also contributes a lot of the music and songs which are played on the series.

Her late mother gave her the nickname Maskandi Queen, which she still uses today.
