When Hansie said "The Devil made me do it" was he talking about the Guptas?

Back in the year 2000, disgraced former Proteas Cricket captain Hansie Cronje blamed Satan for 'making' him accept money from a bookmaker. Now, Twitter believes he might have been talking about the Guptas.

"In a moment of stupidity and weakness I allowed Satan and the world to dictate terms to me. The moment I took my eyes of Jesus, my whole world turned dark.", Cronje said back in the day in a confession faxed to Rhema Church leader Ray McCauley.

After a Twitter user, @RanjeniM, posted about Smith and Bancroft, who should have said “The Guptas made me do it!”, one tweep replied it's "Hansie's line".

And apparently that's what @RanjeniM was hinting at, adding a passage about Cronje's relationship with a Gupta to substantiate her post.

However, Cronje was not taking about Ajay, Rajesh or Atul Gupta. The Gupta in question was reported to Indian bookmaker Mukesh Gupta.

It seems everyone who has ever been involved in a corruption scandal knows a Gupta.
