Clifford Keys has earned a chance at the Wheelchair 8-Ball Pool World Title after winning the South African championship. Keys is an ordinary South African with a gift at playing 8-ball pool.
When he was 15 he was injured in a freak bicycle accident which left him paralyzed. Little did he know but that accident would change his life in more ways than he could imagine.
He refused to give up and completed high school and it was then that he found his passion for pool. He competed in the South African championship for five years until he won the title in 2017 and earned his ticket to the World Championship.
The World Championship will be held in Blackpool, England and competitors from across the globe would test their skill against one another.
Each player has to pay their own way to the final and must raise their own funds. To this end Keys has set up a crowdfund to raise the money he needs to travel to the UK.
He has a goal of R32,500.00 and if he reaches it he promises to use the extra money on helping another person reach their crowdfunding goal.
