Thuso Mbedu recently won the golden horn for Best Actress in a TV Drama at the 12th annual South African Film and television awards.
Shortly after that, she announced that she would be joining the cast of Generations, one of South Africa's most popular soap operas.
Briefly.co.za learned that instead of receiving congratulations, she was given a mouthful on how bad the move would be for her career according to zalebs.co.za.
After the Generations 16 drama, the show lost some viewers, especially the millennials. Those who no longer watch the show decided to speak on behalf of those who do.
The show has over 8.7 million views and is second only to Uzalo with 9.4 million viewers.
Since the backlash, she has been reluctant to talk about which role she would be playing.
Despite the negative comments, Generations viewers are excited about the new cast member.
