- She invited him to work at her salon
Babalwa Mneno, a popular model and hair salon owner, has reached out to help an unemployed barber struggling to raise money for his graduation.
The barber, Dominic, first posted about his mobile barbershop business on Twitter. He wrote:
Hi twitter family, #unemployment is real. I'm trying to raise funds for my graduation through my haircutting business. I run a mobile barbershop in and around Auckland Park, Johannesburg. DM for info. Kindly spread the word.
Dominic's tweet went viral and has received over 4,300 retweets so far. One of the people who saw it was Babalwa, a former Miss South Africa runner-up, who decided to do help Dominic.
She contacted him and later posted a photo of herself with him with the caption:
Here's a lil story about determination and drive. On Sunday, I read @Dominic_Mtj's tweet about his barber services. I offered him a night shift barber job at my salon.
He came to see me at the salon on Monday. He's now a member of my staff! Please utilise his services when you come to my spot.
Thanks to Twitter and Babalwa's intervention, Dominic now works at a top salon in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Twitter users praised Dominic's resourcefulness as well as Babalwa's kind heart. See some of their reactions below.
