From golf days and walks on the promenade, to sweeping statements about combating corruption, and now President Cyril Ramaphosa has been spotted flying economy class.

While comparisons between presidents are never fair, there's no doubt in people's minds that Ramaphosa's approachable manner and contagious smile has endeared him to South Africans.

While some of the initial excitement over his election has faded, there are still moments when the "Ramaphoria" buzz kicks in.

It may just be a PR stunt by Ramaphosa, who certainly knows how to talk to the people, but regardless, it's a far cry from private jets and layers of security.

Of course, for the people on the flight, it must have been quite an experience.

Twitter users shared their feelings about the news, with some praising Ramaphosa for his true leadership, while others expressed their cynicism.

After all, the 2019 elections aren't that far away and the ANC needs all the good press they can get.
