- Entertainer Skolopad was already planning Women’s day while everyone else was still waiting for Easter
- The dancer and musician said she wants to book Zodwa Wabantu to appear on stage with her for a special concert to commemorate women’s day in August
- Skolopad extended the invitation to work together to Zodwa by means of a tweet
Skolopad has said she is willing to pay Zodwa Wabantu to perform on stage with her.
Briefly.co.za gathers that Skolopad extended an invitation via popular social media platform, Twitter, to Zodwa suggesting they get together for a Women’s Day concert.
The plan is reportedly to put on an entertaining show for women on the day, and Skolopad said she wouldn’t even mind footing the bill for the dancer to join in the performance.
“It’s not that deep really. If Zodwa wants me to book her and pay her to come to my concert, then I will do it. I believe we are both powerful women and if nobody will see to it that we are on the same stage, I will do it myself,” said Skolopad.
However, as one tweep commented, the twitter account for Zodwa Wabantu used in Skolopad's tweet is a parody account. Another tweep claimed that "the real Wabantu" isn't even on twitter.
Can you imagine the two of them sharing a stage? We think it might be quite a spectacle and well worth the ticket costs.
It seems Zodwa, while not completely anti the idea, does have some questions she would like answered before committing to the gig.
“I think she just came up with the idea and threw it on social media. Does she have a budget? Does she want to book me? If yes, can she afford me? If she wants both of us to plan it, what is she bringing to the table? I am a really busy woman, like, I’m going to the States next month,” Zodwa reportedly said in response to the tweet.
On thing is certain, fans of both the women will be delighted to see them on a stage together. This fan recently shared a video clip on Facebook after she had a chance encounter with South Africa's favourite pantyless dancing queen.
