Panic-stricken tourist told to "stay calm" after cheetah jumps into his car

A group of tourists on safari in Tanzania got to see the African wildlife up close and personal after a curious cheetah jumped into their vehicle.

A video which was captured by photographer Peter Heistein shows how the cheetah inspects the car and even tastes one of the seats.

A tourist is seen in the right side of the frame, the panic he was experiencing was etched on his face.

The tour guide told the group to remain calm. The cheetah was one of a group of three brothers the tourists had been observing.

One of the tourists, Britton Hayes said that he though that he was "going to die".

“I was scared to death, but I’ve never felt more alive,” said Mr Hayes.
