Neighbours would party all night at Winnie's: Soweto neighbour recalls

Elsie Tshikobi was a neighbour to the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in the Sowetan suburb of Orlando.

Tshikobi shared some of her favourite memories of Mam' Winnie after hearing of her passing, among them her tendency to care for the community.

Tshikobi said that Madikizela-Mandela cared for the people around her, and would often attend funerals, visiting with family members and friends to pay her respects and offer comfort.

Briefly.co.za also learned that Madikizela-Mandela would often host parties, but when it got too late, she would say goodnight and leave her guests to continue with the party while she went to bed.
