- A Facebook page purporting to be Dali Mpofu's posted a condolence message about Winnie Mandela
- It referred to her as "Mama Winnie"
- Some commenters said he shouldn't be calling her "Mama" given the rumours of an alleged affair between them
Social media users have taunted prominent Advocate Dali Mpofu after a Facebook post expressed sadness over the passing of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
A Facebook page, Adv Dali Mpofu Speaks, posted the message on April 2, Briefly.co.za learned. It's unclear if it is Dali Mpofu's official page.
The message said: "Rest in Perfect Peace Mama Winnie Mandela."
Many commenters expressed similar condolence and "rest in peace" sentiments.
However, some cited past rumours that Mpofu had an alleged affair with the late Madikizela-Mandela in the late '80s and early '90s.
They therefore said it's "inappropriate" for Mpofu to call her "Mama."

In a subsequent post, the page urged people to accord Winnie Madikizela-Mandela the respect she deserves.
