- A selfless single mother of 4 sold everything to support her daughters dreams
- She washes the clothing by hand even though she has painful arthritis
- Sponsors spoiled her with papering and a bran new washing machine
Being a parent is tough, but being a single parent bring with it, its own struggles. Petro is a single mother of four daughters and life is not exactly easy for them.
Her daughters are aged 22, 21, 16 and 15.
Both her eldest daughters are studying in order to gain a better start to their furtures and the younger two are still in high school.
Petro works hard. She works a 12 hour day seven days a week in order to look after her babies.
As tertiary education is not cheap, Petro sold everything of value that she had to ensure her eldest daughters got what they needed. Her daughter’s futures mean more to her than anything of material value.
Colleen is her 21 year old daughter and she is in her fourth year of law school. She is the one who wrote into Good Morning Angels about her selfless mom.
Colleen does everything she can to help her mom. Her varsity fees are fully sponsored by grace of her outstanding marks.
She expressed how her mother will do anything to give them a foot forward in life and the thing that breaks her heart daily, is that her mother washes their clothes by hand despite her arthritis.
She wrote into the Good Morning Angels to ask for help in getting her mom a washing machine.
Marianne Fraser from the Centurion Country Club Ladies Club sponsored a “shopping spree” at a local mall, where she picked out her brand new, state of the art, 17kg top loader washing machine.
Jenny Griesel, Producer of “Susters", the new Afrikaans film that hit cinemas on 29 March 2018, sponsored a bag of pamper goodies and invited her and her daughters to a pamper-movie-and-lunch-day in Pretoria.
What a beautiful gift for such a beautiful and deserving woman. Petro is the true definition of a mother.
