Mokhethi admitted he started physically abusing his wife in 2014, shortly after the death of his mother and younger brother in a car accident.

The turning point came when he realised he was hurting his wife. The father of three added he knew something had to change, so he started seeing a therapist.

The South African actor said he had previous experience with therapy while in rehab, so he knew it was effective.

He was serious about saving his marriage, so he even went to see his pastor.

“I also spoke to my pastor at church because I had guilt, shame and doubt. I wondered if God knew I even existed,” he added.

According to Mokhethi, his relationship with God was what helped him restore his marriage, adding his wife was now his best friend.

“I want to thank her for giving me a chance to change my life.”, the grateful husband said.
