When an actor plays his or her role really well, viewers may sometimes have difficulty differentiating the acting from the real-life person.
This is exactly what's happening to Fezile Makhanya, who plays Tebogo on the soapie The Queen. Viewers are upset at the way Tebogo is verbally and emotionally abusing Kea.
They are making their views known on Twitter. Briefly.co.za compiles some of their reactions below.
The viewers' dislike of Tebogo is so intense that Fezile feels the heat off the screen. Speaking to Times Live, he said:
There has been a lot of hate, but I understand the more they hate me, the more I am doing my job.
I am convincing them of something that is different to who I really am and that was my goal as an actor. Wherever I go, people look at me with distaste.
He added that even his dad sat him down about his role and told him that he didn't raise him to hit a woman.
