Jacob Zuma has his day in court: Case postponed to June

Former president, Jacob Zuma, appeared in the Durban High Court on 16 charges of corruption, fraud, racketeering and money laundering on Friday.

Earlier, constitutional law expert, Pierre de Vos, said he believes Zuma’s legal team, which effectively has unlimited funding due to the deal Zuma struck with Thabo Mbeki in 2006, will delay court proceedings for years and possibly indefinitely.

Advocate Billy Downer, SC, asked the Durban High Court to postpone Jacob Zuma's trial to 8 June. Downer said the state is ready to continue with the trial.

Meanwhile, Zuma is expected to file his review application on 15 May.
