Jim was also married to Tammy Faye LaValley, who died at her home on 20th July 2007 after a long battle with cancer. Tammy divorced Jim in 1992 and married Roe Messner.
The pair first met at the Los Angeles International Church (The Dream Centre), where Lori was invited to speak. At the time, Pastor Jim was serving at the inner-city outreach after his release from prison. The two had a short but fairy courtship.
