Racism has been thriving in the media, and people are getting fired up against each other. We've seen calls for one race to come together against another, and we even had the first person in SA's history to be jailed for her racial slurs.
Those fighting for a rainbow nation might feel like they're losing by a landslide, but Ubuntu is still alive and well in South Africa, even if it is just through a small act of kindness.
A woman's heart was warmed when she saw a beautiful moment between two races on Friday.
Rela Venter was sitting in Sandton traffic when she saw something which she described as "the nicest scene".
An older black woman was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tyre, and her help came from an unexpected person.
A white male with a "rather fancy Mercedes SUV" took time out of his schedule to lend the woman in need a helping hand, regardless of her race.
"The best part was obviously the great conversation the two of them were having. Big smiles all around.", Venter said, adding "THIS is my South Africa!!!”
She continued by saying she was still smiling over what she saw and she even managed to take a photo of the two.
