South Africans are mourning the death of Ma Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, but at the same time celebrating her life and what she stood for.

In an event to honour the passing of one of the most influential women in South Africa's history, citizens sported all black attire and doeks on Friday, 6 April.

The ANC shared on social media that they would be honouring Ma Winnie by wearing all black and doeks, as they encouraged South Africans to do the same and post it on Twitter under #AllBlackWithADoek.

And, the participation of South Africans were overwhelming, not even the ANC could have expected to many citizens partaking in #AllBlackWithADoek.
