Getting 6-figure salaries: The 5 highest paid South African cricket players

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to start soon and South Africans would be watching some of the best local cricketers take up spots in the different international teams.

Heinrich Klaasen would be the ninth South African in IPL, as he replaces disgraced former Australian skipper, Steve Smith at the Rajasthan Royals.

But, he's not one of the top five, who would be getting a big paycheck. Briefly.co.za gathered the five South Africans who would making bank in this year's IPL tournament.

1. AB de Villiers

De Villiers would be playing along side the likes of Virat Kohli and Brendon McCullum at the Royal Challengers Bangalore, earning a massive R20.3 million for the tournament.

2. Chris Morris

The 30-year-old would be returning to the Delhi Daredevils, earning R12.5 million. The team decided to hold onto him and not let any other team snatch him up.

3. Kagiso Rabada

Rabada would be joining fellow South African cricketer Chris Morris at the Delhi Daredevils. The 22-year-old South African bowler would be making R7.7 million for his participation in the IPL.

4. David Miller

David Miller is the fourth highest paid South African player in the IPL this year, earning R5.5 million.

The 28-year old would return for his sixth year at the Kings XI Punjab.

5. Quinton de Kock

After the Delhi Daredevil released de Kock, the Royal Challengers Bangalore snatched him for a whopping R5.2 million, making him the fifth highest paid SA cricketer in the IPL.

And, he has his Protea team mate with him, AB de Villiers is also in the RCB team.
