Winnie Madikizela-Mandela passed away on 2 April. There have been many ceremonies of mourning and other events held in her honor. One thing that stood out is the Artists who have used their talent to create pieces of Mama Winnie.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was one of the most fearless apartheid activists, and her no-nonsense attitude was one of the many characteristics that made her such an influential personality.
People have done many things in honor of the death of Mama Winnie, who was of one of the people who made a lasting contribution in ending the suffering of those oppressed in apartheid.
Thousands of photo’s have been taken of Mama Winnie over the years and the artists have used these to create beautiful murals, paintings, graphic designs and sketches of her.
The stunning art works have been spread over social media and have added a brighter note to this very sad time.
Even though the thought behind the pieces were done in a kind and caring manner, they were not all a clear representation of Mama Winnie and some did not take well to the fact.
