As a part of the ruling parties 10 day program in celebration of the life of Ma Winnie, the African National Congress (ANC) has launched the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Day of Service in Orlando, Soweto as part of the ruling party’s 10-day program of celebrating the life of the struggle stalwart.

A food garden has been planted at a house of a woman who cares for 14 children, in Winnies honor. Amazing gestures like this one, will help make Ma Winnie’s legacy last forever.

ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule was very pleased with the idea and stated that he would like to see many more gardens like this one, being planted all over the country.

“One household or school… one food garden. We’re going to start a campaign as the ANC for food security so that we till the soil and make sure that our people have organic food.”

A beautiful idea for a wonderful cause indeed.
