Crowd cheered Zuma and Mbeki at Ma Winnie's funeral

The crowds of people gathered to wish Winnie Madikizela-Mandela farewell cheered as the defence minister acknowledged the presence of former president Kgalema Motlanthe, Jacob Zuma and Thabo Mbeki

Former President Jacob Zuma received the loudest cheer from the crowds at the funeral service of struggle veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

Programme director Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula acknowledged that former presidents Thabo Mbeki‚ Kgalema Motlanthe and Zuma were present at the funeral service.

The mention of Zuma’s name elicited the loudest cheer as he was originally not mentioned.

Political parties across the spectrum have come together to celebrate the life of the struggle stalwart who died unexpectedly on Easter Monday.
