A man in KwaZulu-Natal has been praised for his heroism after he risked his life several times to rescue another man trapped in a burning car.
A Facebook user posted a picture of the man in the KZN Traffic Facebook group, Briefly.co.za gathered. However, his name was not revealed.
The post also included a witness account of just how determined the man was to save the trapped driver.
The witness wrote:
I was probably the third car on scene. I saw this black man risk his life multiple times to try and pull a white man out of a burning car.
He was unsuccessful in his first few attempts due to the driver having his seatbelt on and the intensity of the fire. When the seatbelt burnt, he then pulled him out.
The accident happened in a very volatile area [that's] notorious for riots, but the black community rallied together in notifying authorities, controlling traffic and risking their lives to assist the injured. Amen to the people of South Africa.
Facebook users commended the man for his heroism. See screenshots of some of their comments below.
