Manchester City superstar David Silva has posted heartfelt photo of himself and his son Mateo after his club were confirmed as the new Premier League champions on Sunday, April 15.

After beating Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, April 14, Manchester City had to wait till Sunday, April 15, for the outcome of the match between Manchester United and West Brom.

But to the surprise of many football pundits and lovers, Manchester United were beaten at home as Manchester City dethroned Chelsea as EPL Champions.

David Silva who has been superb for Manchester City this season however took the chance to reflect on his special year by uploading a photo with his son who was born prematurely in December 2017.

Silva had to take time away from City earlier this season to spend time with his family and new-born son Mateo.

His child was tragically left fighting for his life after being born prematurely in Valencia.

The 32-year-old who has been nominated for this year's PFA Player of the Year was holding his child while wearing a hospital gown in the photo.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za had reported how Manchester City star David Silva announced that his son Mateo was born prematurely in Valencia.

He missed many games as a result of the incident as he had to travel to Spain where he spent time with his wife and family.

Silva however thanked his coach Pep Guardiola, his teammates, and all his fans for the support they gave him.
