When American Ryan Fournier slammed the conduct of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, a Johannesburg man came to his defence.
"What the “President” of South Africa is doing is just as bad as what Assad is doing. UN needs to take action and stop the South African Government from slaughtering white citizens! There’s a humanitarian crisis is South Africa and no one seems to care! We must end it!", Fournier's post read.
His post prompted a response from Ulrich Janse van Vuuren, who set the American straight.
"Dear Ryan, Yes, we don't care about your propaganda. You should come visit South Africa sometime, I'm sure you'll love it here.", Janse van Vuuren replied.
Being a white South African made Janse van Vuuren's response just that much more powerful. From Australia to America, foreigners have attempted to speak up on behalf of all white South Africans, without having first hand experience of what's going on in the country.
Tweeps were quick to agree with Janse van Vuuren, adding although the racial climate could have been better, South Africans are working together to create unity.
Some tweeps felt Fournier should look at his own country, before speaking about issues in another.
