They found love on Facebook: How commenting on the same post led to true love

- They started talking on messenger and soon became inseparable

- And now, more than a year later, they would be tying the knot

If you are meant to meet someone, you’ll meet them no matter what. Which means you can find love in the most unexpected ways.

And, some people meet the love of their lives in the most unusual but amazing situations. For Mandy van Heerden and Tiaan Joubert , their love story started after they both commented on the same post.

Okay, so Facebook does not have a great reputation when it comes to dating. A lot of horror stories came out of meeting new people on social media.

But van Heerden and Joubert are among the few who got lucky. The met on a Facebook page called ‘Eks van die Ooste’.

Van Heerden, 27, and Joubert, 33, hit it off straight away. They started talking on messenger and now, just over a year later, they’re preparing to tie the knot.

“From there, one day turned into two and now we cannot live without one another,” said the wifey to be.

The couple would be exchanging their vows on 21 April, and van Heerden added she’s excited about marrying the love of her life, with whom she shares a beautiful baby boy.

And, not only did she meet Mr Right on Facebook, but the social media platform also helped her plan for her perfect wedding.

“Not only did I find my husband on the group, my sister also got me a dress.” She said, adding “My hair and makeup will be done by ladies on the ‘Eks van die Ooste group’ and my son’s suit also comes from the group.”
