An image showing a 71-year-old arthritic woman cleaning her yard while sitting on the ground has broken the hearts of many.

Pamela Tuluku, from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, shared the image on Twitter on 18 April, Briefly.co.za learned.

She said Mam'uNtile, who is her neighbour, cannot walk and does not have a wheelchair. She therefore appealed to Twitter users for help.

In subsequent tweets, Pamela explained that Mam'uNtile has been on a wheelchair waiting list at the local government hospital for two months now.

Neighbours and church members therefore volunteer to help Mam'uNtile with her cooking and cleaning because she lives alone.
