A woman has taken to social media to thank two homeless men for saving her life.
The woman, only known as Boitumelo, recalled a horrific incident, which could have claimed her life if it was not for two homeless men.
“Two homeless guys saved my life today guys, surely I was gone forever at that stage.”, Boitumelo wrote on Twitter.
According to her tweets, she was standing at a robot in Braam going to campus from the gautrain around 5:45, when an old Audi A3 stopped next to her.
She said two guys stepped out of the car, one from the passenger and one from the back, when one opened the boot of the vehicle.
Boitumelo said she was busy on the phone when the two men grabbed her and started to push her towards the open trunk of the car.
“Two homeless guys came running with knives shouting and causing a commotion. Literally people started looking and shouting...The men dropped left me with all my belongings right there and drove off. I was so traumatized. The two guys walked me to Wits. I couldn't function”, she added.
She added if it were not for the two courageous homeless men, something terrible could have happened. An anxious Boitumelo then called on all women to keep their guard up and stay safe.
The story shook tweeps, who expressed their concern over the crimes happening in a public place.
