Teen honours her late father by wearing a very special dress to her prom

A Mississippi teen was struggling to deal with the loss of her father found a very special way of him to be part of her prom night.

Kedrian Woodruff, 17, came up with the ideal way to pay tribute to her late father at her senior prom at Canton High School, Mississippi.

Kedrian and her mom worked with a local dress maker and screen printer to make a custom gown for her big night. The dress had her dad's face printed prominently on the front.

She was just 13 when she lost her dad after he suddenly developed a blood clot in his lungs. She found this special way to make sure that her dad was "with" her on her prom night.

"She said she wanted to honor him with this dress. I wasn’t sure it would be possible but I wanted to make her happy,' her mother added.

'What inspired me to create my dress is to have my daddy with me all along when I was at prom,' Kedrian explained.

South Africa saw something else very similar at a graduation ceremony where Nomzamo Mbatha wore a dress with the faces of people very dear to her that she had lost.
