Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane recently got into political hot water after apparently comparing himself to former President Nelson Mandela.

In a video that went viral on social media, Maimane is heard saying that people often refer to him as "mini-Mandela." He said:

I want to ask you — which party would Nelson Mandela have dreamt of? People phone me. They are on Twitter, they are on Facebook. They say Mmusi Maimane, you are a mini-Mandela.
