This time, a contestant on the hit Mzansi show is alleged to be engaged, which confused viewers because he was hanging out with three families on the show in hopes of finding his potential true love.

Some viewers speculated about the relationship status of Ashby, adding they didn't think he was really single.

Soon tweeps started posting pics that proved not only that Ashby was not single, but that he had a child with the woman as well.

Some tweeps felt Date My Family should have checked if the guy was not in a relationship.

"I think #DateMyFamily should do background checks on their candidates & potential dates because instead of bringing love they braking hearts & homes. We know this is about sales and all but we are going about it the wrong way FAM...just my take", Piet Sedibi wrote.

Viewers even started to question the credibility of the show, adding the previous week a contestant claimed she was paid to be on the show.

As Briefly.co.za reported previously, Cleo was slammed by Date My Family fans after she treated the bachelor, Neo, poorly.

However, she hit back saying she was 'begged' to be on the show.
