- Kananelo lost her husband when she was just 28
- They had been married for just 8 weeks
- She shared her story with Destiny Magazine
A brave 30-year-old lady has shared how she became a pregnant widow at the young age of 28 — just eight weeks after getting married.
Kananelo Tsotetsi, an industrial engineer, shared her heartbreaking story with Destiny Magazine, Briefly.co.za gathered. The magazine then posted it on its Twitter page.
Kananelo also said she and her late husband, Phamo, got married on her birthday. Phamo passed away in a motorcycle accident on 31 October three years ago.
Twist of fate.
The young engineer wrote that on the fateful morning, she and Phamo discussed running some errands together and going to an event later that evening.
However, because Kananelo's biking gear no longer fitted her, Phamo ran the errands alone on his motorbike. They agreed to meet at the event, to which Kananelo would drive.
They left the event together, with Kananelo driving and Phamo riding the motorbike. Kananelo wrote:
I was still driving behind him when I realised I'd forgotten my cellphone at my parents' house, so I took a detour. He stopped to fix his helmet and looked into my eyes — that was the last time I saw him alive.
When she got home, an odd feeling kept nagging her. She drove out three times to look for Phamo when he didn't arrive several hours later.
Only on the third time did I see red and blue lights, his bike on the ground and a crowd. Just like that, I became a 28-year-old pregnant widow.
The story touched the hearts of Destiny Magazine's Twitter followers, who sent their best wishes to Kananelo.
