Top Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau has been named among the world's 500 most influential footballers for 2018.
The World Soccer Magazine published the list in its March edition, Briefly.co.za learned. Tau appeared on page 64, although there seemed to be no particular order.
Both the star footballer and his team shared the exciting news on Twitter.
According to Times Live, Tau is among 44 African footballers in the list. Of these, only four are based in Africa, with Tau among them.
The magazine praised Tau for his stellar career with Mamelodi Sundowns:
The star of Mamelodi Sundowns' 2016 African Champions League triumph is attracting a lot of interest from Europe and could leave South Africa this summer.
Tau is the joint top scorer in this season's Absa Premiership with 11 goals. He is also a huge favourite to win the 2017-18 PSL Player of the Season.
