South African sevens rugby player Werner Kok warmed the hearts of social media users after a video of him went viral where he went the extra mile to make a young fan’s ‘dream come true’.
While competing in the Singapore sevens tournament, Blitzbok Werner Kok was filmed climbing a fence and a few steps to meet his young fan.
Onlookers filmed the entire incident and posted on social media.
“@wernerkok1, you have a heart of gold!! You made the young man’s dreams come true #5 @Blitzboks #aboveandbeyond @News24 @zarsg @SuperSportTV”, the post read.
“What a true ambassador and legend you are @wernerkok1 that is one moment that family will remember for life. Well done mate.” Ian Cooper commented on the video.
Another tweep, Carlo Hill, explained Kok has always been nice towards his fans. Hill said he spotted Kok at a varsity match this year, and when he waved at the sevens player, Kok waved back at him.
Hill described Kok as always being humble and friendly, even if a game is not going well.
The Blitzboks are the defending champions, however they are currently trailing behind Fiji, who has taken the first place in the tournament thus far. Two legs of the tournament remain – London and Paris.
