36 years in the music industry has carved PJ Powers into the music industry as a legacy to be respected. Born and bred in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, has always featured in the music world. Best known songs include Feel So Strong, You’re So Good To Me and Jabulani.

PJ’s journey has not all been smooth sailing. In a bold move in 2014, PJ focused on two parts of her life not previously discussed. At this time PJ discussed her sexuality, stating she believed the world knew she was gay. She also shared her battle with alcohol and her journey as a recovering alcoholic. “Oh the whole world knows that I am gay,” she insists! “But I don’t walk about screaming ‘I am what I am,'” said PJ in an interview with mambaonline. In the same interview, she mentioned that when she’s spoken about her alcoholism at AA meetings around the country, “some people have sought help because of that.”
