- Han Zicheng's wife passed away and he lost touch with his sons
- He doesn't want to move to an old age home
- He therefore appealed to a kind family to adopt him
An 85-year-old grandfather in China is so lonely that he has resorted to looking for a family to adopt him.
According to Washington Post, Han Zicheng put up a notice at a local bus shelter that read:
Lonely old man in his 80s. Strong-bodied. Can shop, cook and take care of himself. No chronic illness. I retired from a scientific research institute in Tianjin, with a monthly pension of 6,000 RMB (almost R12,000) a month.
I won’t go to a nursing home. My hope is that a kindhearted person or family will adopt me, nourish me through old age and bury my body when I’m dead.
His wife passed away recently, Briefly.co.za gathered.
In addition, he is out of touch with his sons, meaning that he's now all alone.
Reports indicate that although he has received offers from some families to adopt him, he is yet to find a suitable one.
