Rumours of Mpumlwana’s financial state started doing rounds as soon as she was fired from the hit Mzansi show Generations.

However, the diva decided to put the stories to rest once and for all, so she put it out there that she is not broke.

“I am not broke, I am not down and out and I sure as hell hate defending myself,” Mpumlwana said, adding “Just because I’m not on TV doesn’t mean I don’t have an income.”
“I’ve been working on Umhlobo Wenene FM, I have an international film coming out soon and I have been focusing on my events. Life is good. I am content.”, Mpumlwana said.

Her response followed an alleged close source telling DRUM Magazine the former Generations star was struggling, adding she doesn’t have a car and she took an Uber to work.

“She doesn’t have a car since her cars broke down. As her friends, we drive her around to events and parties and she uses Uber to get to work.”, the source claimed.

Another source reported the former Isidingo star was also binge-drinking. But, Mpumlwana shut down those rumours as well.

“I am a public figure and when people see you dressed in a certain way or holding a glass of wine, they are quick to make assumptions.”, she said.
