Grateful to the doctor that went out of her way to support her family, Suz-Lee Ka Nogaga took to Facebook to praise the Doctor. After her twins were born, one of them had to stay in hospital. Dr Julia Kirby’s photo that appeared on the post has been shared thousands of times, making her well known across social media.
“Finally found her on Facebook!!! Somebody please share to help me celebrate this beautiful soul… Dr Julia Kirkby! She was one of the doctors that worked on my daughter Emihle at Charlotte Maxeke Academic hospital last year.
“She went out of her way to support me and my family through that ordeal. I had another twin who also needed me at home, while I had to travel to Johannesburg every second day to see my other sick baby. It was not easy at all.”
Dr Julia, despite her busy schedule, whenever Suz-Lee was not at the hospital, would update her on Emihle’s condition. Each time Dr Julia would make time to explain everything to Suz-Lee.
“One day she even sent me a picture of my baby saying “hi mom”. I was so happy. She went far beyond her line of duty to take care of my baby.”
Suz-Lee was a new mother and this was a painful experience for her. Thanks to Dr Julia, this ordeal was made a little easier to handle. Even though it has been a year since the babies were born, Dr Julia still makes time to chat asking how the babies are doing, even requesting pictures.
“I will never forget what she did for my daughter. And when she grows up, I’ll tell her about this guardian angel. Who knows, maybe that will inspire her to become a doctor just like beautiful Dr Julia.”
Ending off her post, Suz-Lee asks readers to please share the story as Dr Julia deserves to be famous for all her kindness. South Africa needs more Doctors like her.
