On Tuesday the DA leaders told journalists in Cape Town they saw De Lille’s end in the party the moment she made the remarks on the radio show.

"I’ve said it many times before, Eusebius, you know, the writing’s on the wall that people don’t want me for whatever reason... I will walk away," De Lille was recorded as saying in the interview.

De Lille told McKaiser she was planning on resigning the DA after she proved her innocence. Her statements obviously did not sit well with Mmusi Maimane’s party.

Natasha Mazzone told the journalist the "cessation of her membership" followed De Lille violating the party’s constitution.

De Lille’s ousting caused quite the debate on Twitter, with social media users using the platform to express their thoughts on the subject.

“So does this mean that from now onwards politicians will refuse to openly answer questions during media interviews lest they suffer #DeLille’s fate. I blame @Eusebius”, Motalatale S. Modiba commented.

Some tweeps slammed Mmusi Maimane for not being man enough to announce De Lille had been sacked, but according to Mazzone, she broke the news since she addressed the public on all things De Lille.

Tweeps then speculated what De Lille’s next move will be- some suggesting she’d seek to join Juju and his party.
