Mzansi Twitter users have called out Checkers for a hilarious Mother's Day advert fail shared by one of its outlets.
A Twitter users posted a photo of the outlet's alleged specials for Mother's Day. They were mostly cleaning and other household products, prompting tweeps to protest that mothers deserve better.

Some suggested that the advert looked down on mothers.
Others said it was a case of sexism.
For some, the Checkers store in question was perpetuating disparaging stereotypes about women.
In a statement posted on its website, Checkers explained that the picture was taken at Checkers Van Der Lingen store in Paarl on 4 May 2018.
It added that the image was taken "while the store was moving a Mother’s Day display from the back to the front of the store ahead of Mother’s Day."
The retail store apologised for the wrong impression the image created and posted an image of the final display.
