- A young Russian thief painted his face green in a bid to disguise his identity
- He then stole a woman's purse
- However, it was easy for witnesses to recognise him precisely because of his painted face
A young thief in Russia proved he wasn't very smart after he painted his face green in a bid to hide his identity.
The 23-year-old man's intention was to make it harder for witnesses to recognise him, Briefly.co.za learned. He then went on to snatch a purse from a woman at a local train station.
According to Oddity Central, the hilarious incident took place in the Russian city of Krasnodar.
The woman whose purse the man had snatched alerted the local police station, which then sent a team to investigate.
When the officers arrived at the scene, it was easy for witnesses to describe the suspect — a young man with a green face.
The officers therefore caught the unnamed man so quickly that he didn't have a chance to get rid of the purse. It was returned to the woman intact.
The officers were left amused when the man explained the reason for painting his face green. Unfortunately for him, paint is not so easy to remove, unlike masks.
