As reported previously, on Tuesday the South African head of state lost his cool when Steenhuisen interrupted him, which led to Ramaphosa telling the DA Chief Whip to shut up.

Cyril Ramaphosa’s swipe at Steenhuisen

Ramaphosa interrupted himself to tell Steenuhuisen to keep quiet while he spoke. Parliament chair chair Cedric Frolick told the president to retract his comment and Ramaphosa complied, but it appears the head of state just wanted to swipe at Steenhuisen, even if he would have to retract the statement later.

Steenhuisen’s reaction

Steenhuisen took to social media to react to Ramaphosa losing his cool.

“When a President loses his cool in Parliament you should worry. Its a robust environment, if the President cannot navigate it deftly then he is going to have a tough time. CR needs to develop a thicker skin, this is Parliament, not a board meeting or the NEC”, he wrote on Twitter.

He also reacted to social media users who praised the head of state for telling him to shut up.

Since the incident, tweeps have voiced their opinion about the incident and it resulted in a full-blown Twitter roast of Steenhuisen.

One tweep even suggested Steenhuisen was more annoying than a mosquito, to which the DA Chief Whip unsurprisingly had a response.
