- A good smaritan helped a young man in need and left him stunned
- Robert Cable shared this random act of kindness on social media and people loved it
A Capetonian shared his inspiring encounter with an unknown stranger on Facebook and the story gave South Africans smiles and warm feelings on the inside.
Robert ran out of petrol that fateful night, but this kind stranger stopped and asked if he could be of assistance.
Where most people would simply drive on by, the man saw a fellow South African in need and took it onto himself to be a helping hand.
This is what grateful Robert had to say about the incident:
“This guy is a Godsend. Seriously. I ran out of petrol next to the highway last night. Just as I was about to call a friend, he stopped next to me on his motorbike and asked if he could help.
He proceeded to go buy petrol and insisted that he pays with his OWN money, so that he won't drive away with mine. Within 10 minutes, he came back with a 2 liter bottle of petrol.
The petrol only cost R25, but I only had R100 notes on me. He refused to take the full amount, so I said I'd give him R50 if I we could find some change.
We drove to his workplace (NURI SUSHI Factory) to get some change & when I checked again, he gave me my change and a platter of sushi, free of charge!
What a blessing this guy is. Above all else, his name is Innocent - what are the odds ?
Thanks so much, man!"
Robert made sure he tagged Innocent's workplace so that they would know of the caring deed he did.
