Gail Mabalane speaks out about discrimination because of her pregnancy

It’s something that every woman faces, the fear of what will happen when she tells her employers she’s pregnant. Will she be supported or will she be given the boot?

Actress, Gail Mabalane experienced just this when she was pregnant with her second child. She auditioned and was cast for a role. When she was called back to assist with a reading for one of the other actors auditioning, she decided to tell them she was five months pregnant.

When speaking about the incident, she says she was not even showing yet but felt that out of courtesy she should let them know.

Mabalane commented that she has already received her contract for the part, and passed it on to her legal team when the producers called to say they were not really sure she would be the right fit for the role.

The actress admits she never believed she would be discriminated against in that way. recently featured an article called Finally we get to see a photo of Gail Mabalane's son. In the article, we got to meet this very special baby:

In a report by TshisaLIVE, she expressed how excited they were to welcome their new bundle of joy into the world. "You expect that after having your first baby that it will be the same, but this is a new baby and a new adventure. I think we are better prepared for it now. We know more and are more relaxed.’ learnt that baby Khumo is their second child and was born on January 31. Gail and her husband Kabelo were ecstatic. Their first born, Zoe, is three years old.

After the birth of their baby boy, the only picture that was shared was a picture of his tiny hand, but despite the vagueness of the picture, the public reacted with great joy and spread congratulations on the arrival of tiny Khumo.
