- WhatsApp is a universal communication App that is popular
- WhatsApp has many features built in that people don’t know about
- Understanding all the features available turns this messaging App into a really handy business tool
There are not many people today who don’t know what WhatsApp is or how to use it. This communication platform has become universally recognised and used.
There are however a few handy tricks you should know built within the App that, when you know how to use them, take this App from a nice-to-have to a must-have.
1. WhatsApp Web
By clicking on the menu button on the top right-hand corner, and then clicking on WhatsApp web, you are able to load WhatsApp onto any desktop machine. Easier to type and communicate during the day, this function makes communicating that much easier.
2. File transfer
Once you have set WhatsApp up on your computer, you can add your own contact number to your cell phone contacts. Then if you ever need to send a file to yourself from your phone, or visa versa, you can simply WhatsApp it to yourself and move it between your devices easily.
3. Chat shortcut
For all those favourite contacts in your WhatsApp, you can ass a chat shortcut to your homes screen, giving you an opportunity to get hold of them instantly. You can then treat this shortcut like any stand-alone App, positioning it where you want it.
4. Star important messages
WhatsApp allows you to bookmark, or star an important message in a chat. By doing this, you are able to easily retrieve that particular message as and when you need it. Once you have started a message, it is easily retrievable under the menu and starred message tab
5. Broadcast your message
While group messages can be handy, groups are becoming more and more difficult to manage. Usually, a group will be created with the best intentions, but as it grows and establishes, there are often people who will abuse the platform posting unnecessary messages and irritating other group members.
Inevitably, group members start to mute the group and it becomes less effective as members are no longer notified immediately about important information, WhatsApp allows you to broadcast a message to a group of people.
This function allows you to create the message and then it sends the message to each group member, as an individual message. This allows numerous people to receive the same message, but they can each answer you individually, in a private chat.
