- Bonang Matheba and AKA were a happy couple for the longest time
- They started seeing each other when DJ Zinhle was pregnant with AKA’s child
- Their breakup shocked the SA entertainment scene
We all know those happily-ever-after couples that seem picture perfect together. We see them riding off into the proverbial sunset together with the credits rolling in our minds.
And then, suddenly it’s over and we are left trying to place what went wrong and why.
While there are rarely answers to these breakups, the reality is they happen and Bonang Matheba and AKA’s breakup showed us that they happen to everyone.
The two apparently started seeing each other when DJ Zinhle was still pregnant with AKA’s baby, and although the hook-up was less than conventional, once the couple began, they checked every box for the happily ever after.
Post breakup blues
Again, it’s common for couples who split to yearn for the other, or miss things about their previous other half.
In the second season of her reality show, Matheba showed us that she is no different to the rest of us, and she shared some of the things she misses the most about AKA.
In her words: “You know when it’s the most painful? On Sundays, that’s the one thing I realized, Sundays are super long and you feel every moment. After watching Date My Family, Carte Blanche, and the 8pm movie... and it’s still not even midnight, you’re like ‘what am I gonna do with myself’?”
Briefly.co.za recently shared an article called Coincidence or re-kindled romance: Did AKA and Bonang spent the weekend together?
In the article:
Coincidentally, both Bonang and AKA were in Cape Town this weekend. No one thought anything about it, until both exes posted pics and video's on Instagram captioned "2 a.m". Bonang posted a very sexy photo of herself, while AKA uploaded a few videos of himself working on some music.
AKA posted pics on his Insta Story of The Pepper Club, which view looks very similar to the one in Bonang's pic.
All these feelings, memories and moments have to make you wonder…

Christian churches in Africa are huge. So are the pastors. One pastor’s charisma and divine calling unites and educates people in the church community. Unfortunately, some shameless individuals make it extra difficult to tell apart divine miracles and deliberate deception. Be careful with who and what you believe in!
