AB de Villiers helped his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side to a score of 218/6 against top of the log Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). RCB went into the crunch match knowing they had to win no matter what.
SRH took the match to the final over and finish the match just 14 runs short of the target. The win keeps RCB's hopes alive and based on their current form they might actually win the tournament.
AB de Villiers once again proved just what a special cricket player he is. He starred with the bat scoring 69 runs from 39 balls at a strike rate of 176.92. De Villiers also took a spectacular catch in the outfield to dismiss Alex Hales.
RCB started the week knowing they would have to win each of their last five matches to have any hope of qualifying for the IPL playoffs.
Briefly.co.za gathered that SRH have proved to be the class side of this year’s tournament and have already qualified for the playoffs.
The team led by Kane Williamson has only lost three matches and have proved to be a bogy side for all the teams.
RCB is considered one of the glamour teams of the tournament, but are perennial underperformers.
The win moves RCB to 12 points equal with three other teams.
